The Sandwich That Wanted to Be Fancy
A Very Ordinary Sandwich
Sammy was a cheese sandwich who lived in a lunchbox.
Every day, he watched cupcakes with colourful sprinkles, fancy cakes with swirly icing, and cookies shaped like stars.
"I wish I could be fancy too!" Sammy sighed. "I'm just two slices of bread and some cheese!"
He tried wearing a lettuce leaf like a hat, but it kept sliding off.
"This is harder than it looks!" he grumbled.
Sammy's Makeover
One morning, Sammy decided to change his look.
He added a slice of tomato, a few cucumber circles, and a tiny piece of parsley on top.
"Ta-da!" he announced. "I am now a five-star sandwich!"
But when lunchtime arrived, the children rushed past him to grab the cupcakes.
Sammy drooped sadly.
"After all that effort, nobody even noticed me!"
The Tastiest Surprise
Just then, a hungry little boy picked up Sammy and took a big bite.
"Mmm! This is delicious!" he exclaimed. "It's my favourite!"
Sammy beamed.
He realised he didn't need glitter, fancy decorations, or a mountain of sprinkles to be special.
He was already tasty just the way he was!
From then on, Sammy proudly stayed a cheese sandwich, sometimes adding a little tomato when he felt adventurous.
