Wobble the Chair Who Wanted to Dance
A Chair with a Dream
Wobble was a little wooden chair who lived in a cheerful kitchen.
Every evening, he watched the family dance to music.
"Oh, how I wish I could dance too!" he sighed.
"But chairs don't dance!" giggled the table.
Wobble felt sad. He had four legs, after all. Surely that was enough to learn a few dance moves!
The Wobbly Dance
One night, when everyone was asleep, Wobble decided to practise.
He rocked to the left.
He rocked to the right.
Then he wobbled so hard that he nearly fell over!
"Whoa! That was NOT graceful!" he squeaked.
Just then, a tiny mouse appeared.
"Try moving to the beat instead of shaking all your legs at once!" she suggested.
Wobble tried again, gently rocking from side to side.
Soon, he was moving perfectly to the music playing from the radio.
The Star of the Kitchen
The next evening, the family switched on the music.
To everyone's surprise, Wobble began rocking to the beat!
The children clapped and laughed.
"Look! Our chair is dancing!"
Wobble beamed with pride.
He might not have fancy dance shoes, but he had found his own special moves.
From then on, Wobble danced whenever the music played, although he always made sure nobody was sitting on him first!
