The Little Red Hen
A Seed To Plant
One sunny morning, Little Red Hen found a grain of wheat.
"Who will help me plant this seed?" she asked.
"Not I," said the Cat.
"Not I," said the Dog.
"Not I," said the Duck.
"Then I'll do it myself," said the Little Red Hen.
She planted the seed and cared for it every day until it grew into golden wheat.

Hard Work Pays Off
When the wheat was ready, Little Red Hen asked,
"Who will help me harvest the wheat and bake some bread?"
"Not I," said the Cat.
"Not I," said the Dog.
"Not I," said the Duck.
So Little Red Hen harvested the wheat, ground it into flour, and baked a warm, delicious loaf of bread all by herself.
Soon, the wonderful smell filled the farm.

Sharing the Lesson
"Who would like to help me eat this fresh bread?" asked the Little Red Hen.
"I will!" said the Cat.
"I will!" said the Dog.
"I will!" said the Duck.
Little Red Hen smiled and said,
"Since I did all the work myself, I will enjoy the bread myself."
The others realized they should have helped from the beginning.
From that day on, they worked together, making every job easier and more fun.
